CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CLASSES & TEST

A special preparatory class available for all who successfully complete Beginners Obedience Level 2, Private training or demonstrate the equivalent skill level. Limited to 8 students.

These four, one-hour classes prepare you and your dog for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen™ test. In the final session, the test will be administered to all class participants by Leea Foran who is an AKC Canine Good Citizen™ Approved Evaluator. The classes will provide practice and skill development in: polite greetings and handling by a stranger, sit, down, come, and stay, loose leash walking through crowds, meeting other dogs with control, calm response to loud noises or sudden movements, and relaxed separation from the owner. All work will be done without the use of food rewards or specialty collars/head halters as is required for the actual test.
